DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product
in a manner inconsistent with its labeling
This labeling must be in possession of the user at the time of application
Western Poplar Clearwing Moth Dispenser is a behavior modifying biochemical product (pheromone) which functions by mating disruption. It is to be used for control of the Western Poplar Clearwing Moth (Paranthrene robiniae). Do not apply more than 150 grams of active ingredient per acre per year.
For application in two- and three-year-old trees (up to 15 M height)
METHOD OF APPLICATION: For use on hybrid poplars where the Western Poplar Clearwing Moth is a pest. Use two canisters per acre. Use the cabinet to dispense the western poplar clearwing moth canister. Follow the instructions provided with the canister. Set canister puff delivery size at either 30 or 60 microliters. One puff of product is delivered every 15 minutes for a period of 12 hours, starting at 6 pm or one hour before sunset, whichever is earlier.
Placing cabinets in arbors and replacing canisters should be done when cabinets are inactive, typically during daylight hours between 7 am and 5 pm. To avoid accidental spraying, ensure that aerosol nozzles are pointed away during the performance of these tasks.
One western poplar clearwing moth aerosol will last 100 days at a 60 microliter puff size or 200 days at a 30 microliter puff size. Where effective control requires longer application periods, replace used canisters before the number of days is reached.
Product Placement: Suspend a cabinet with canister from a tree limb close to the center of the tree. Ideally, placement height should be approximately 2/3 of arbor height ± 10%. Avoid placing cabinets where foliage can be directly sprayed. Where feasible, a 3-foot clearance.
Arbor Blocks Smaller than 40 Acres: The western poplar clearwing moth aerosol is not be used in arbor blocks less than 40 acres unless adjacent acreage is also being treated with the western poplar clearwing aerosol and total acreage block being treated is 40 acres or more.
40-Acre Block Arbor: Place cabinets around the orchard perimeter using approximately 66-foot intervals when cabinets are set to deliver 30 microliter puffs of product. Use approximately 132-foot intervals when cabinets are set to deliver 60 microliter puffs of product.
Arbor Blocks Greater than 40 Acres: Place cabinets around the arbor perimeter as discussed above. For each acre exceeding 40 acres, additional cabinets are to be placed within the interior of the arbor. Use an additional 1 to 2 aerosols per acre when cabinets are set to deliver 30 microliter puffs placing interior cabinets in a grid formation or in the upwind portion of the arbor to allow for natural distribution of product. Use an additional 1 to 2 aerosols per 2 acres when the cabinets are set to deliver 60 microliter puffs.
APPLICATION NOTES: For best results apply at the time or shortly before the western poplar clearwing moths begin to emerge in the spring (biofix), or when the moths are first detected in pheromone traps such as BioLure®/Scenturion. This product only affects adult male moths and will have no effect on female moths, eggs or larvae. If application occurs following biofix or during the growing season, the arbor must be treated with insecticide treatments that will effectively control hatching larvae until egg laying by previously mated female moths has ceased to occur. Supplemental insecticide applications are to be based on trap monitoring, field scouting and appropriate degree-day models for local growing area and must be timed to control emerging larvae. Follow the BioLure Technical Bulletin for trap placement. Monitor insect infestation with traps and by visual inspection of trees. Re-apply as needed, based on monitoring results and field scouting.

PPE: coveralls, short sleeve shirt, shorts, shoes, socks and waterproof gloves.
For application to mature trees (greater than 15M height)
METHOD OF APPLICATION: To disrupt mating of the Western Poplar Clearwing Moth on hybrid poplars where Western Poplar Clearwing Moths is a pest apply WPCM-F at 0.1 fluid ounces (3.0 ml) product (0.5 g a.i./acre) per acre to 2.0 fluid ounces (59.0 ml) product (10.0 g a.i./acre) per acre. Do not exceed 29.0 fluid ounces (857.5 ml) product/acre/year (150 g a.i./acre/year). SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING. DO NOT use WPCM-F from damaged, punctured, or unsealed containers. Use piston, diaphragm, or centrifugal pumps ONLY. DO NOT use roller or gear pumps as they will damage the WPCM-F controlled release system. For best results, apply immediately after mixing. Do not let stand prior to application without thoroughly mixing again. Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system. Ground Equipment: Apply WPCM-F in sufficient water for uniform coverage. Do not apply to point of runoff. Apply to foliage directly. Aerial Equipment: Apply WPCM-F in sufficient water for uniform coverage.

This product only affects adult male moths and will have no effect on female moths, eggs or larvae. If application occurs following biofix or during the growing season, the field must be treated with insecticide treatments that will effectively control hatching larvae until egg laying by previously mated female moths has ceased to occur. In moderate to high insect pressure situations, supplemental insecticide applications during the season can prove necessary to provide adequate protection to the developing crop. Make supplemental insecticide applications based on trap monitoring, field scouting and appropriate degree-day models for the local growing areas and must be timed to control emerging larvae.
