INTRODUCTION

This trilogy of books (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum) showed to the world what a prolific suspense writer Ludlum could be. Millions around the world have read this wonderful trilogy, as it has been translated into 27 languages. And has twice been made into film.

 

The Bourne Identity introduced the world to a young man who wakes up in a doctor's home on a small island in Europe . This man would soon uncover his name, Jason Bourne, and why everyone seems to be out to kill him. Accompanied by his beautiful hostage/lover, Marie, Jason will make his way across Europe to find who he is. But who is this Carlos that he is constantly hiding from? And why does he want to kill Jason? But the questions seem to be multiplying; Who is Cain? Who is Delta? But most important, who is Jason Bourne?

The Bourne Supremacy brings Jason back into the world of intrigue. This book goes more in depth in the complex women that has become the wife of Jason Bourne, Marie. She has been taken from him, and only by becoming Jason Bourne, the man he now hates, will he win back his wife. From China to Hong Kong to Macco, Jason must find and capture the man who has assumed the Bourne mantle, and is once again a killer for hire. Only then will his wife be released to him. But is that even possible? This book also follows Marie in her attempt to find her husband who is leaving a trail of bodies across the Orient in search of her.

In The final novel, The Bourne Ultimatum, Jason is now a father of two, a much farther along in years than in the previous two books. But trouble has come to this family living in a perfect world as two men who know the true identity of Jason Bourne witness a murder done in the name of Jason Bourne. They know it couldn't be the real Jason Bourne, Carlos has returned. This book follows Jason as he sets numerous traps for Carlos, known as the Jackal, all the while being hunted by Carlos himself. In the end is a very unexpected turn of events that may leave you with a burning question; What really happened to Jason Bourne and Carlos? The popularity of these books has grown so much that twice The Bourne Identity has been made into a movie, with a sequel in progress to make the Bourne Supremacy.
