I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Washington State University. Prior to this I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Indiana University at Indianapolis for the 1997-98 academic year. AT WSU I will be teaching Managerial Economics and Statistics for Business at the MBA level and Theory of the Firm and International Trade and Finance at the undergraduate level.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics from Rutgers University in October 1997 for my dissertation entitled "Three Essays in Contracting under Asymmetric Information". I was at Rutgers from 1992 till 1997. I also have a M.A. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India which I attended from 1990 till 1992. My Bachelor's degree is also in Economics from Presidency College, Calcutta, India. I attended South Point High School in Calcutta graduating in 1987.
Most of the above is provided for friends who may stumble upon my homepage in their peregrinations through cyberspace - as has happened a number of times in the past. This is just so that you can be sure that I am who you think I am. Yes the years have wrought quite a few changes.
On a personal note (I have always been somewhat cynical about writing long autobiographies and a little condescending towards to those who do) the defining moment of the past few years and of course my greatest achievement till now was to get my wife Indira to say "I do". Here are some photos of Indira and me. I have been contemplating putting some wedding pictures on here for those who missed our very innovative and novel wedding. I hope to get around to that in the near future.
