
Meet Isai Macias
Isai Macias graduated with a B.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of California at Irvine and received his Masters degree in Bilingual Education and ESL from Heritage University. He also completed graduate courses in Spanish linguistics at the Universidad de Castilla-La Manca in Toledo, Spain.
Sr. Macias taught Conversational Spanish at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. He has also taught high school for several years in the Yakima Valley. In addition to his great accomplishments, he is also a certified translator for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
Sr. Macias has traveled through many Spanish speaking countries including Argentina, Chili, Paraguay, Mexico and Spain. He is aware of the differences in pronunciation in regards to the various regions of the Spanish speaking world, and as a native speaker from Mexico, teaches the dialect of the Yakima Valley.
Currently, St. Macias teaches for the Yakima School District, Yakima Valley Community College providing Adult ESL classes and Chicano Studies, and he has taught Spanish as Second Language for Washington State University since 2003.
