The counseling psychology program offers Master’s of Arts and Master’s of Education degrees. Classes are available for the post-master’s certification program for school psychologists, which is based at WSU Spokane.

Department of Teaching & Learning: Literacy
The non-thesis Ed.M. degree focuses on literacy in kindergarten through 12th grade. The purpose of the Ed.M. degree is to develop teachers’ or other professionals’ knowledge and skills. The Ed.M. has specializations in literacy and in English as a Second Language (ESL)/bilingual.
The M.A. degree is designed for students who wish to focus on educational research in language and literacy and who may pursue a doctoral degree. Emphases are offered in ESL/bilingual education and literacy.

The educational leadership program offers graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels, plus administrator certification programs for the superintendent, residency principal, and residency program administrator. Educational leadership program faculty provide a balance and integration of practical experience, theory, and research — while preparing educational leaders who function as scholar-practitioners.

The M.I.T is intended for those who already possess a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education and is designed to prepare them to become effective elementary and secondary education teachers. This program of study leads to a master’s degree and a State of Washington teaching certificate.
