General Information
Types of Programs:
Exchanges:
Exchanges are bilateral agreements between WSU and international institutions. They are considered full immersion programs because students directly enroll and have access to full curriculum study.Requirements:
• 2.75 - 3.3 GPA
• Studied the foreign language of the host country past the 204 level, unless courses in English are offered. 300-400 level coursework is strongly advised.
Exchanges can be slightly competitive due to limited space. There are exchanges offered by WSU and by the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).
Costs:
For WSU exchanges: You will pay WSU tuition. Room, board and other related expenses are paid directly to your host institution.
For ISEP: You will pay all WSU costs. For more information see an Education Abroad advisor.
Study Abroad:
Study Abroad Programs are third party providers that work with institutions in the US and abroad to create different study opportunities around the world.Requirements:
• 2.5 GPA, some programs might have higher requirements
• No previous foreign language study required
Study Abroad Programs are not competitive and usually have lots of space available, however courses available can be limited. Study Abroad can also include part-time internships!
Costs:
Students will pay a program fee to the study abroad provider and will not pay WSU tuition for the time they are gone. The program fee usually includes tuition, room and board and other associated program costs. More details can be found in their brochures and websites.
Faculty Led:
Faculty led programs are study programs that have been created and run by WSU faculty. Most faculty led programs are during the summer. Each program will have its own specific requirements determined by the faculty member organizing the program. For more information or updates on new faculty led programs see the Education Abroad Office.Academic Internships & Partnership Programs:
Internships for credit in your field can be arranged through accredited programs during the summer and semester. Some background experience and at least a 2.5 GPA are required. Partnership programs provide unique experiences for WSU students at special rates. For more information see an Education Abroad advisor.Financial Aid and scholarships
