Long-Time Professor Makes Stop in Farewell Year

WSU Pullman History Professor Susan Armitage was at the Richland Campus Thursday November 1, 2007 to give a Lecture on Pioneer Women in the Northwest.  It was not the traditional cowboy-type pioneers that she focused on.  Her attempt was to present a more inclusive and multicultural picture of the northwest.  They were pioneers in a more global sense.  Her story was told through the eyes of three generational and ethnically diverse females.  A nine year old white girl, a Japanese picture bride and a Mexican teenager were the subjects of her lecture.

The Liberal Arts Department will continue to present lectures all year long.
