Blue Emergency Poles

WSU Tri-Cities has blue emergency poles in three locations on campus:

  • In the main parking lot at Row 7 (along the center sidewalk, near the Bioproducts, Sciences and Engineering Laboratory)
  • In the Consolidated Information Center parking lot
  • On campus between the West Building and the CIC, along the sidewalk near the soccer field.

How it works:

  • In case of an emergency, press the large red button
  • You are immediately in voice contact with the 24/7 dispatch center operated by Moon Security, our campus security contractor
  • Moon Security will ask you questions to determine the emergency
  • Your call then is forwarded to the appropriate emergency responder (police, fire, etc.), while Moon Security stays on the line

    If there is an emergency inside a campus building, call 2-7234 to reach Moon Security at any time — or call 911 directly. Be specific about which building and room you are in so the emergency vehicles go to the correct location. If someone is available to help you, send them out to the building entrance to guide the emergency responders to your location.
  • The West and East buildings are at 2710 University Drive
  • The BSEL address is 2720 University Drive
  • The CIC address is 2770 University Drive

    Fred Miller, the WSU Tri-Cities emergency management coordinator,
    is at 2-7163 or 372-7163. Calls are forwarded to his cell phone if he is off campus.
