Nursing Leadership

The MN Nursing Leadership track prepares nurses for advanced practice leadership roles. Students take the core Advanced Population Health course work and additional course work in organizational leadership.

Career Options

Graduates are prepared to work as nurse administrators or in leadership roles in a number of health care settings including acute care, public health, outpatient clinics, home health care, and more. Note: This is NOT a clinical nurse leader (CNL) program.

Post-Master’s Certificate Options

Students who complete this track are also eligible to apply for a Post-Master’s certificate in Nursing Leadership. They must apply for the certificate separately through the graduate school and pay an additional $25.00. An MN Nursing Education track and a Post-Master’s certificate in Nursing Education are also offered.

Admission Criteria

Students must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and a current Washington State RN license. To learn about pre-application requirements, visit the MN Application & Admission page.
