Volunteers

Volunteers take time and effort to assist WSU in a variety of projects and activities. It’s important to know what the University’s policies are regarding volunteers. If you have projects or other areas where volunteers contribute, take time to familiarize yourself and your volunteers with the process. University employee policies apply to volunteers. This includes policies in the BPPM, SPPM, Executive Policy Manual (EPM) and other University policy manuals.

While many individuals (and businesses) who volunteer their time at our campus maintain coverage under their own insurance and liability policies, the University assures that volunteers are covered for liability and workers compensation.

WSU policy (BPPM 60.81) states all departments are to comply with the provisions of this section.

Nikki Province in HRS Pullman at 5-4521 is the “go-to” for any questions on volunteer/activities policies.

BPPM 60.81 explains the policy and processes
