Master of Education (Ed.M.)
Washington State University Tri-Cities offers the Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree with specializations in literacy, ELL/bilingual education, and curriculum & instruction. The Ed.M. is a non-thesis degree designed for educators wishing to extend their professional knowledge and enhance their competence as practitioners. Course credit also may be used to meet continued certification requirements or lead to a Reading, Bilingual Education, Special Education, and/or English Language Learner endorsement. Coursework may also be used to fulfill the Professional Certification Requirements.
The Ed.M. program consists of a minimum of 35 semester hours of which 33 hours must be in graded coursework. The program of study culminates in a final written examination. There is no oral examination. Program courses are sequenced and scheduled to permit full-time teachers and administrators to complete the degree in approximately two years, with full-time enrollment available during summer sessions.
