Student Counseling Services
Student Counseling Services has moved locations! Aphrodite is in West 269 E.
Short term mental health care for current Washington State University Tri-Cities’ students is available on campus from Aphrodite Beidler, LMHC. There is no fee for services, and strict confidentiality is maintained in accordance with the legal and ethical guidelines. We offer services in an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for all students.
We offer the following services:
- Initial Assessment
- Individual Counseling
- Crisis Counseling
- Conjoint Counseling
- Consultation Services
Aphrodite is available for appointments:
- Monday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Tuesday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Wednesday from 1–4 p.m.
- Thursday from 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Friday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Note: There are no summer Counseling Serivces.

Time Management I. Become a skilled manager of your time and plan for how to balance your academic work with your everyday activities in the most effective way.

Overcome Test Anxiety! Do you feel that you study for a test and then get a blank mind during testing time? Learn ways to manage your anxiety before and during exams.

Note Taking Strategies: Active listening and effective note taking are crucial skills for academic success. Learn how to take notes that will improve your in-class experience and enhance understanding of the material.

Time Management II. Learn how to manage yourself so you can manage your time. If you missed the first workshop on time management you have the opportunity to attend this one. We will discuss the most common ways that waste time and reasons for procrastination as well as strategies for success!

Improve Study Habits. Learn the key components to successful study habits. Evaluate your current ones and learn new strategies that will help you study more effectively.

Communication Skills! Relationship troubles start with ineffective communication. This workshop will teach you how to become more assertive and will help you improve your professional and personal relationships.

Time Management III. Time management is essential if you are to succeed at school. Learn how to manage yourself so you can manage your time. Become a skilled manager of your time and help others in the class as they develop their own strategies for better time management!
