“A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words,
But Talk is Cheap”

Statement

“A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words, But Talk is Cheap” is a video piece that deals with issues of cultural perception in an increasingly digital society. The piece attempts to address this issue by taking framed pictures of objects and replacing the “real” objects with the framed picture of the “real” object. The illusion is created and viewed as a “real” object and a “fake” object, however, in watching the video, viewers are reminded that everything contained within the confines of the video screen ultimately is not real, hence the comparison between the two does not actually exist.
