Fast & Furious Skull Evolution, 12 p.m., BSEL 101
Date:
Tue, 10/09/2012 - 12:00pm
Dr. Craig Albertson from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst will be our seminar speaker at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in BSEL 101.
"Fast and furious skull evolution: genetics and adaptation in fishes."
Craig's research focuses on craniofacial ecology, evolution and development in fishes, particularly in the massive adaptive radiations of the East-African rift-lake cichlids, but his lab also uses the zebrafish as a developmental-genetic model and he has explored skull and skeletal evolution in such derived groups as the Antarctic icefishes.
