WSU Tri-Cities Major in Management & Operations (Organization Management Track)
Management and operations involves leading the planning, structure, and operation of an organization and its members. This program provides instruction on how to motivate individuals to meet goals, and how to evaluate the economic, social, political, and technological trends that impact business.
In addition to the GER requirements, and CB prerequisite and business core course requirements the following courses are required to major in Management & Operations (Organization Management Track) for students who certify as a business major in the Fall 2010 or later:

- Plus four (4) organizational management track electives (select from the following)

- MgtOp 453 [M] Comparative International Management
- MgtOp [M] 455 Staffing
- MgtOp 456 Compensation Administration
- MgtOp 483 [M] Macro Organizational Behavior *
- MgtOp 485 Negotiation Skills*
- Mgtop 487 Business Ethics
- MgtOp 489 Entrepreneurial Management
- MgtOp 496 Seminar
- Plus two (2) Business electives at the 300- or 400-level (these may include MgtOp, Fin, Acctg, Mktg, MIS, BLaw, or IBus courses). Admissible 300- or 400-level courses may not include courses from the Business Administration core, the set of required MgtOp courses, or any 498 or 499 courses.

Careers in Management and Operations
A major in management and operations can lead to work in virtually any organization — public, private, government, and nonprofit. Positions include consultant, supervisor, labor relations expert, hotel or service organization manager, human resources/personnel director, financial aid advisor, loan administrator, retail store manager, independent business owner, or entrepreneur.
Salaries
Entry-level managers can earn about $34,000. Starting pay can be up to $48,000 for those with a master’s in business administration (MBA) with a specialization in general management.
