Careers in Business

Options include manager, statistical consultant, entrepreneur, human resources manager, information systems specialist, accountant, consultant, investment broker, security analyst, and market researcher. Positions are available in the private, public, nonprofit, and government sectors.

Salaries

Although annual incomes are influenced by several variables, an education in business and economics provides strong potential to get the most from your hard work. Recent graduates and industry sources indicate an average base starting salary in the $25,000-35,000 range. Mid-career, or with additional education, earnings range $35,000-80,000. Executives and Ph.D.s often receive six-digit incomes. Commission, bonuses, and stock options — as well as post-baccalaureate education — can also add significantly to incomes. Many of WSU's experienced graduates earn six- and seven-digit incomes.
