Elizabeth “Liza” Nagel holds her Ph.D. in Higher Education from WSU and is currently serving as the Academic Director of Education at Washington State University Tri-Cities.  Previously, Dr. Nagel was the Accreditation Coordinator for the College of Education and Associate Dean for the Graduate School at the University of New Mexico.  Dr. Nagel spent her early career years as the Director of the Institute of Substance Abuse Prevention Studies at Lewis-Clark State College, an externally-funded research and training institute where she was responsible for the grant writing and administration of multi-state prevention programs.

Nancy W. Ashley, PhD, Associate Professor of Information Systems, came to WSU Tri-Cities in 1999 from State University of West Georgia. She earned her PhD from the University of Arizona in 1995. She also holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Arizona and a BS from Whitworth College.

Dr. Ashley's coordinates the MIS program for WSU Tri-Cities. Her research focuses on the use of IT tools for data and process modeling, as well as for technology commercialization.

Tim Baker, PhD, Associate Professor of Decision Science, came to WSU Tri-Cities in 1999 from Bass Hotels and Resorts, where he was the revenue management research head. He received a PhD in 1994 from Ohio State University in Operations Management.

He won the CB research award in 2005 for his publications in revenue management and auction design. He and coauthor Nagesh Murthy won the 2004 Decision Sciences Institute's Best Interdisciplinary Paper award for their work on auction analysis. He teaches Statistical Analysis for Business Decision Making and Business Modeling.

Jesus Bravo joined the WSU Tri-Cities Business Faculty in the Fall 2011. He had previously served as an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University after earning his Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Illinois in Chicago.  His teaching and research interests are in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.  

Dr. Bravo’s research has focused on interpersonal processes as they relate to employee careers, employee satisfaction, fairness perceptions in the workplace, and organizational policy changes.  He won the Outstanding Reviewer Award for 2008 given by the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management, and was the recipient of the 2006 Best Applied Paper Award in the Careers Division of the AOM Annual meeting. His research is published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology.

DuWayne Dockter, Visiting received his Ed.D. at Utah State University with an emphasis in accounting, business education, and microcomputer applications in business.  He earned his MA from California State University, Fullerton, and expects to receive his MS from Washington State University, Vancouver in 2012 with an emphasis in tax.  He has worked as a Staff Accountant for two Public Accounting Firms, and as an Internal Revenue Agent.  He has been the department chair for two schools and taught across the curriculum including Principles of Accounting, Managerial and Cost Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Advanced Accounting, and Tax at Concordia University in Oregon and Wisconsin.  

Dr. Dockter is interested in teaching and doing further research in the areas of tax, financial, managerial, and international accounting.  He has published a number of user application manuals, tax related web sites, and some articles in the past regarding teaching and other subjects.

Elina Petrova, PhD, Assistant Professor of Marketing, joined WSU Tri-Cities in 2007 after receiving her PhD degree in Industrial Administration (Marketing) from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds a MS degree in Interdisciplinary Mathematics and Marketing from the University of Warwick, U.K., as well as a MS degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Dr. Petrova's research interests are in the area of quantitative analysis, modeling, and econometric estimation, with a focus on issues related to market performance and optimal allocation of marketing resources in the retail, pharmaceutical, and software industries. Her research has been published in the Journal of Marketing and Marketing Science. Her previous business experience involves work as a market analyst, project manager, business development manager, and general company manager in international companies operating in Bulgaria.

Kraig Jones, MA, CPA, joined the resident faculty at WSU Tri-Cities as a Visiting Professor of Accounting in 2010.  He had previously served as an Adjunct Instructor since 2008, while working as a Supervisor at LeMaster Daniels in Kennewick.  His experience includes management of client base, preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, public charities, and private foundations, and extensive tax research in a variety of areas.  Mr. Jones is a licensed CPA in the state of Washington, and a member of the AICPA and the Washington Society of CPAs.  
 

Sheen Liu, PhD

Sheen Liu, holds his first Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and his second Ph.D. in Finance from Syracuse University, and is currently Associate Professor of Finance. Before his academic career, he was an engineer for Carrier Corporation, United Technologies.  
 
Currently Dr. Liu’s research interests are in the area of fixed income securities and corporate finance. His research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Fixed Income, etc. Recently, he received the 2011 Peter L. Bernstein Award for best paper in an Institutional Investor journal.

Paul Skilton, PhD, Assistant Professor of Management, came to WSU Tri-Cities in 2010 from Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus where he served as an Assistant Professor of Business Administration. He earned his PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the W.P.Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.  He also holds an MBA degree from The Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management, Boston College, Newton, Massachusetts. Dr. Skilton's research interests concern the relationships between creative project performance and team composition, with project based careers and entrepreneurship, and with strategic issues of project team composition and performance for organizations like film studios and universities.
