Requirements & applying
Depending on where you've been and what your educational purpose is, the requirements you need to meet and the application you'll fill out may differ.
Freshman
You're considered a freshman for admission purposes if:
- You're applying to WSU for the academic year immediately after graduating from high school (Running Start students are considered freshmen for admission purposes).
- You haven't attended college since high school graduation and are under 25.
Transfer
You're considered a transfer student if you attended an accredited college or university after your high school graduation (but not including the summer immediately following your graduation).
International
You need to apply for admission as an international student if you are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Former WSU student
Apply as a former student if you previously attended at least one full semester at any WSU campus and have been away from WSU for two semesters or more.
Adult student
If you'll be 25 years or older on your first day of classes at WSU and you have less than a full year of college work to transfer, apply as an adult student.
Home school
If you received some or all of your high school education through home-based instruction, follow these steps to apply to WSU.
