2009 Announcements & Regalia
Commencement announcements can be ordered directly from The Bookie. Please allow two weeks for delivery.

Prices do not include sales tax. Deadline is May 5 to order to ensure delivery before the May 15 graduation ceremony.
The Bookie also has a supply of diploma frames and souvenir tassels for sale. The Bookie is open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. Students who live out of town may call The Bookie at (509) 375-1084 or email Dana Gilchrist at sm052@bncolleg.ecom.
Honors and Honor Cords
Candidates must have completed at least 30 hours of graded work (grades in which grade points are awarded) at Washington State University in order to be considered for honors.
Cumulative GPA of:
- 3.90 or higher = summa cum laude
- 3.70 – 3.89 = magna cum laude
- 3.50 – 3.69 = cum laude
The appropriate Latin phrase will be printed on the diploma and on the final transcript.
Computation of graduation honors will be done prior to the end of the final semester to allow for publication of the appropriate honors in advance of graduation. However, following the student’s final semester, the Registrar will re-compute the student’s GPA including the last semester’s work, and only this computation will determine official graduation honors.

WSU Tri-Cities Faculty Regalia Rental Instructions for Commencement 2009

1. Go to this link: http://college.jostens.com/jostens/index.jsp
2. Type in “Washington State University”
3. Click “Go”
4. Select “Richland campus”
5. Click on “Shop Grad Essentials” (near the center of the page by the tassel)
6. Under the heading “Cap and Gown,” click “Faculty.”
7. From here you will add the items to your cart that you need to rent. For example, if you need a cap, gown and hood, you will select the “Doctorate Tam w/Bullion Tassel, Gown” option, then select the “Design It” link and give your height and cap size. Click “Add to Cart.”
8. Select “Continue Shopping” to get your “Doctorate Hood.” Again, you select “Design It” and input your university’s name, state, city, country, and your major. Select “Add to Cart.”
9. Each item on the invoice has a Student/Recipient Name associated with it. Fill in those boxes. Then select “Check Out Now.”
10. Watch for these text boxes and links:
• “Sign In” vs. “New Customer?” Select the “New Customer — Continue without signing in.”
• Payment Method: Choose the option “Payment not required for this order.” (You will pay later at The Bookie on our campus when you pick up your regalia.)
• Shipping Method: “Standard”
• Review Order
• Submit My Order
• Processing....
• Create New Account? “No Thanks”
11. You are finished when you see this message: “Thank you. Your order is complete. $0.00 will be charged to your credit card. A confirmation email has been send to pedrow@eecs.wsu.edu. 12. The Bookie recommends you order your regalia by April 15 to ensure it is delivered before our May 15 commencement, being held this year at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
