Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology
The counseling psychology program offers a Master’s of Education degree with a focus on school counseling or community counseling.
The educational leadership program offers graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels, plus administrator certification programs for the superintendent, residency principal, and residency program administrator. Educational leadership program faculty provide a balance and integration of practical experience, theory, and research — while preparing educational leaders who function as scholar-practitioners.

Department of Teaching & Learning
Washington State University Tri-Cities offers the Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree with specializations in literacy, ELL/bilingual education, and curriculum & instruction (with a general emphasis and a math/science education emphasis). The Ed.M. is a non-thesis degree designed for educators wishing to extend their professional knowledge and enhance their competence as practitioners. Course credit also may be used to meet continued certification requirements or lead to a Reading, Bilingual Education, Special Education, and/or English Language Learner endorsement. Coursework may also be used to fulfill the Professional Certification Requirements.
The M.A. degree is designed for students who wish to focus on educational research in language and literacy and who may pursue a doctoral degree. Areas of specialization are offered in ELL/bilingual education and literacy.

Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership, Ed.D.
The education doctorate (Ed.D.) in Teacher Leadership is designed to provide access to rigorous doctoral study on each of our WSU campuses. This specialization develops K-12 teachers and teacher leaders for intellectual and practical leadership within classrooms, schools, districts, and the larger educational policy arena.
